From the Sole Farm was founded in 2024 by Nate Bush and Abby Johnson. Abby, originally from Oregon’s Willamette Valley, grew up surrounded by a vibrant community of small farms. She began her agricultural journey on a small salad farm in Corvallis before traveling across the country to deepen her work in farming, economic justice, and equitable access to food. Nate, originally from Kansas City, returned to the region after working with agricultural communities across the country. Together with their son Archie, they are committed to growing healthy, accessible food for their local community.
Our farm is located on 1.5 acres in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where we cultivate more than 30 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers using biologically intensive, organic practices that center soil health, biodiversity, and ecological stewardship.
We connect with our community through a CSA, the Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market, and partnerships with local food businesses. At the heart of our mission is food sovereignty—ensuring that fresh, meaningful food is accessible and affordable to all.
