Asteroid Acres

Asteroid Acres is a market garden in South Kansas City growing fresh, seasonal vegetables without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Farmer Emily Phillips—a dietitian and long-time KC grower—launched the farm in 2025 with the goal of expanding access to fresh food, increasing local food awareness, and offering nutrition education in her local community.

The farm is low-till and uses ecological practices like compost, cover crops, and crop rotation to produce beautiful nutrient-dense food.
