For over a decade, The Kansas City, MO Chapter of Food Not Bombs has shared meals, groceries, clothing and other goods to the community without restriction on a weekly basis. We also provide food and supplies to people participating in occupations, strikes, marches and other demonstrations.
Food Not Bombs is a global, all-volunteer movement that recovers food that would otherwise be discarded, and shares free vegan and vegetarian meals with the hungry in over 1,000 cities in 65 countries in protest to war, poverty, and destruction of the environment. We redirect food from the waste stream from local farmers, restaurants, and grocery stores to prepare 80 free meals each week and share the rest as groceries on the side.
We share our meal every Sunday from 4-5pm near the bus stop at Independence Ave. and Monroe Ave.
